Kat Cole will share her personal and professional lessons in business growth, innovation and leadership. As Chief Operating Officer and President of North America, Kat Cole is responsible for leading FOCUS Brands’ seven domestic franchise brands: Cinnabon, Auntie Anne’s, Moe’s, Schlotzsky’s, McAlister’s, Carvel and Jamba, as well as overseeing FOCUS Brands’ licensing division, building revenues and profits through global licensing, manufacturing, and ecommerce. Kat joined FOCUS Brands in 2010 as President of Cinnabon and successfully drove the multi-channel brand team to record comp sales and growth, brand expansion and franchise evolution throughout her four-year tenure in the role. In 2015, she was named President of FOCUS Brands Global Channels group and played a central role in designing and deploying the company’s multi-brand and multi-channel operating model to accelerate growth by leveraging the strength and collective power of the company’s portfolio. Prior to FOCUS Brands, Kat was a Vice President at Hooters of America, Inc.
Her experience as a mom of two young children keeps her grounded in what matters and passionate about building better businesses for the future. Kat’s various roles in domestic and international franchising, operations and brand building have motivated her to help franchises and franchisors partner to drive innovation, positive cultures and business model success. She received her MBA from Georgia State University and received an honorary doctorate from Johnson and Wales University. Kat was featured on CBS’ “Undercover Boss” and is one of Fortune’s 40 under 40. She invests in and advises founders and early stage consumer product start-ups, is past chair of the Women’s Foodservice Forum. She is on the United Nations Global Entrepreneurs Council and a Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum. Her journey from waitress to executive by 26 and global chain president by 31 is often shared as an example of the American and entrepreneurial dream.
